ベネディクト・アンダーソン（Benedict Richard O'Gorman Anderson, 1936年8月26日- ）は、アメリカ合衆国の政治学者、コーネル大学政治学部名誉教授。専門は、比較政治、東南アジア、とくにインドネシアの政治。
概説
中国雲南省昆明市生まれ。ケンブリッジ大学で修士号、コーネル大学で博士号を取得。1965年からコーネル大学で教鞭をとる。
著書『想像の共同体』では、出版資本主義、巡礼、公定ナショナリズム、モジュール化といった概念を駆使し、いかにしてナショナリズムあるいはネーションが構築されるかを明らかにし、ナショナリズム研究の新境地を開拓した。2000年には第11回福岡アジア文化賞学術研究賞を受賞。2012年には第1回平城遷都1300年記念アジアコスモポリタン賞経済・社会科学賞を受賞。『想像の共同体』は、日本語やフランス語、台湾語、スペイン語、中国語、トルコ語の諸言語に訳されている。
弟のペリー・アンダーソンも西欧マルクス主義の代表的歴史学者として知られる。
